Projection mapped wedding cakes are the ultimate feature for a unique, one-of-a-kind wedding celebration.
Candy and Grim cakes provide the full projection mapping package, including a bespoke cake (it doesn’t need to be a blank tiered wedding cake), AV hire, on-site support throughout the day as well as tailor-made animated content…no generic stock video, images or animation.
Candy and Grim are proud to be the world’s first to projection map onto, and working in synergy with a 3D sculpted cake. We are also leading the way by being the world's first to develop a self-contained 360 projection mapping wedding cake display, allowing animated content to be animated on all sides of your cake. But we are not stopping there, we are constantly experimenting to improve our technical and creative offer, as well as to provide a cost effective mapping experience.
Candy And Grim Cakes is based in the North East of England, near to Newcastle upon Tyne. However, we do deliver outside of the area.

Keeping to our creative roots is something that we are very committed to, we personally create your cake from design to finish, and take on a limited number of commissions to allow us to take the time and care needed to produce something unique. This approach also lends exclusivity to clients looking for something a little less ordinary.
Candy And Grim Cakes was launched following winning first, second and third prize in a regional ‘Bake-off’ charity competition in 2015, for each of our three cake entries. These included the world’s first 3D projection mapped cake sculpture, a miniature tradition floral buttercream celebration cake, and a sophisticated tempered chocolate cake.

Candy
'Candy' trained as a fine artist painter, but professionally worked as a 3D designer, motion graphics artist and in more recent years has developed a projection mapping and augmented reality skill set.
He loves nothing more than creating fantastical large chocolate sculptures, gravity-defying cakes, and projection mapping.

Grim
Grim trained as a traditional 2D designer/illustrator favoring hands-on work. Grim was also well known for her range of sinister 3D clay characters created for stop-motion animation and dioramas.
She is now a master of anything and everything floral and can produce a dazzling array of butter-cream and sugar-paste flowers. Grim also adds the extra wow-factor to Candy’s cake sculptures with her unique illustrative skills.

Unfortunately, a projection mapped cake only lasts a day, but with a bespoke video booklet, you can relive the experience. At CandyAndGrim cakes we can capture footage of your cake in our studio, as well as film it on your wedding day. Edit the footage together, providing you with a copy of the video and/or creating a bespoke video booklet.
